Turkey’s first fashion show for transsexual people will take place on Nov. 20, 2014. It’s been reported that approximately 45 trans-female models will be walking the runway.
This unique fashion parade is being organized by an LGBT activist who said she was inspired by a woman who told her that transsexuals could showcase dresses better than traditional models.
The same activist also expressed her discomfort in the fact that the media promotes stories related to transsexuals, and LGBT people in general, as “trans terrorism.”
It has been reported that the transsexual women will showcase dresses they have designed themselves. The profit generated from the fashion parade will be donated to relevant LGBT associations.
